Introduction - 2nd Draft

Introduction

When I see teens around me, not all of them live a healthy life. Some of them eat unhealhty food and drinks, not doing exercise and many unhealthy things. I know that facing teen's life is not easy. We need to be smart in managing our time doing many activities but at the same time, we need to manage our health! With having un-managed time, it would affect teen's lifestyle that ends up with an unhealhty life. I realize that this is important to share to people especially teens.

Goal
The lifestyle that I see inspire me to make a book that could make teens aware. The goal of my personal project is to create a book that gives awareness to teens (13 - 17 years old) to live a healthy lifestyle by doing things such as eating healthy food, do sports, and many more. One of the challenges is making the book interesting and persuading for teens since each person has different taste. The result would be in a form of a book that consist of three main sections, which are food and drinks, sports, and fun activities. in order to have proper content, I need to check it out by doing a survey in the end. Another way is to ask an expert on health. By this way, my goal is a SMART goal. First, it is specific, since I have clearly shown the problem that I am going to explore which is how to live a healthy life for teens. It is measurable, because I can make a survey to test whether the target audience is aware and understand the content after they read the book. It is achievable and realistic because I believe I could use my skills of researching and expressing the knowledge of healthy lifestyle through the book. Last, it is well timed because I have make a plan that shows what and when will I do each step until I finish my book through the given range of time without passing the due date. I hope by making this project, I could make an impact on teen's lifestyle.

AOI
For this project, I am applying the Areas of Interaction (AOI), which is Human Ingenuity (HI) because I could use my creativity to create the content and appearance of the book. By using the Human Ingenuity Areas of Interaction, I would achieve my goal by showing my creativity on expressing my idea about healthy lifestyle for teens, and give them information and tips that hopefully be useful for their life. The guiding questions that I will use for this project are "Why and how do we create?" and "What are the consequences?" From these guidelines, I need to be aware that there will be some key questions that I will need through the project.

Plan
This is the activity schedule that I have planed to achieve my goal.

Standard of Success
I could know that my goal is successful when 1.) If there is, at least 65% of the survey shows positive input (this happens if the sum of the survey is 65% in average. I could sum it up because I use number range between one - five answers). I am going to survey randomly twenty-five teens in the range from thirteen - seventeen years old or 2.) Ask an expert (ex. Doctor special for health) to check the content of my book, when 65% of the content is good, it means that I have achieved my goal.

Follow up

Well, through this time, I still added things for my introduction because from the feedback that I got from several supervisors I need to revise some things. Today, I have finished it and send it to my supervisor. I am going to post it in my blog when my supervisor have approved it.

Up dates

Today, I meet with my supervisor and ask about my introduction. She give me feedback for my background and goal part. For the background, I need to have a good data/information that could be the reason of my goal. For my goal, I need to specify them and make the reason why my goal is a SMART goal.
Not only from my supervisor, I also ask Ibu Lisa to prof read my introduction. She give me two feedback which are: the background needs to be based on a strong fact/quotation and the second one is that my goal is not measurable.
For my planning, I am on the process with the first survey. I just need to get around 2 or 3 more 9th graders to fill my survey then I could make the survey result.
From today's result, I need to look back to my introduction and keep on track with my planning.

Here we start!

Today, I follow my plan which is finishing the questionnaires so that I could distribute it next week. Actually, I'm not sure about doing this PP because my supervisor have not send me back the feedback for my introduction and planning it self. No matter what, I just start my plan this week which is making the questionnaires.
These are the questions that I will ask to my target audience (grade 9 - 10):
1. What kind of food do you usually eat?
2. What kind of drinks do you usually drink?
3. What sport/exercise do you do regularly?
4. How do you manage your time to do your work and sports (outside school time)?
5. Do you know what a healthy food is?
6. Do you know the importance of doing sport/exercise?
7. What kind of activity do you like to be put inside the book?
8. What color do you like?
9. What kind of design do you like?
10. How can I make my book interesting?
11. What kind of book is persuasive?
12. Other tips/comments:

*there is choices for each questions.

Well, this is what I have done up to the end of this week.

Introduction - Rough Draft

Introduction

A. Background
When I see teens around me, not all of them live in a healthy life. Some of them eat junk food, unhealthy drinks, not doing exercise and many unhealthy lifestyles. I asked one of my friends, Mada Tamara about what she thinks about teen's lifestyle. She said, "I think some teens live a healthy life but some are not. I could see it through their habit of eating and exercising." I also find a quote that state: "We first make our habits, and then our habits make us." - John Dryden -. I know that facing teen's life is not that easy. We need to divide our time for school, sports, and many other activities that we do. By this way, it would affect teen's lifestyle by ending up with unhealthy life.

B. Goal
The lifestyle that I see around me make me feel like making a book that would persuade teens to live a healthy life. The goal of my personal project is to persuade teens to live a healthy life by doing several things such as eating healthy food, doing sport, and many more. One of the challenges that I would face is making the book interesting and persuading for teens because each person has different taste. The form used to achieve my goal would be in a form of a book that consists of three main sections, which are food and drinks, sports, and fun activities. To make sure that I have a proper content, I need to check on the result of the survey. If there is, at least 50% of the survey shows positive input (this happens if the sum of a survey is 50% in average. I could sum it up because I use range between 1 - 5), it means I succeeded my project. Another way is to ask an expert on health to check about the content of the book. By this way, my goal is a SMART goal because it is specific, measurable, achievable, and well timed. I hope by making this project, I could make an impact on teen's lifestyle.

C. AOI
For this project, I am applying the Areas of Interaction (AOI) which is Human Ingenuity (HI) because I use my creativity to design the book both, for the content and the appearance it self. By using the HI AOI, I would achieve my goal by showing my creativity on expressing my idea about healthy lifestyle for teens, giving them information and tips that hopefully be useful for their life. The guiding questions that I will use for this project are: "Why and how do we create?" and "What are the consequences?" From these guidelines, I need to be aware that there will be some key questions that I will need through the project.

D. Plan
This is the activity schedule that I have planed in order to achieve my goal.

E. Standard of Success
I could know that my goal is successful when: 1.) there is at least 50% of the surveyed target audience give positive answer for the questionnaires and/or 2.) Ask an expert (ex. Doctor) to check the content of my book, when 60% of the content is good, it means that I have achieved my goal.
